Rob Dale is a Journalism Senior at Michigan State University. He grew up in
both the 'thumb' of Michigan and in the Ann Arbor area. Rob would like to
one day report on crime and public policy issues for a major city newspaper.
Rob reports for the Romeo Observer, the Monroe Evening News, and the
Michigan Citizen.

Matt Flint is a journalism senior at MSU, graduating in May 2008. He is
currently reporting for the Ludington Daily News, Petoskey News-Review and
Up North Publications. Aside from Capital News Service, Matt also is the

Harry Gillen is a senior at Michigan State University majoring in journalism and will graduate in May 2008. As much as he loves Michigan, he is hoping to relocate in Colorado or another rocky mountain state and contribute to an outdoor publication or magazine. He traces his roots back to the Cherry Capital of the nation, and reports for the Traverse City Record Eagle and the Cadillac Daily News.

Diane Ivey is a senior studying journalism and political science in her
third year at MSU. She is the former Editor in Chief of SpartanEdge.com, an
online weekly student news source. Although she no longer has a leadership
role with Spartan Edge, she still blogs faithfully as "The Spartan
Sweetheart." She wrote her first letter to the editor of her hometown paper
at the age of nine, and unabashedly enjoys journalism movies. She writes for
the Sturgis Journal, the Three Rivers Commercial-News and the Macomb Daily.

Whitney Lloyd is a journalism and political science senior studying at
Michigan State University. She recently completed a summer internship with
ABC News Special Events in New York and is hoping to return to ABC after
graduation to begin her journalism career. In addition to reporting and
producing for HOM-TV in Okemos, Michigan, Whitney reports for the Lansing
State Journal, the Marquette Mining Journal, and the Crawford County
Avalanche.

Andy McGlashen is a first year master’s student at Michigan State’s Knight Center for Environmental Journalism. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from MSU in 2004. Andy writes for the Holland Sentinel, Lapeer County Press, and South Bend Tribune. In July he will marry a woman way out of his league, but until then his interests include camping, fishing, music, and movies.

Brooke Meier is a journalism senior from White Lake, MI. After graduation
she hopes to pursue a career with a newspaper and work her way up the ranks.
Her dream is to be a war correspondent/photojournalist and cover the stories
that get forgetten in the wake of war. Her heroes include Ernie Pyle, Robert
Capa and Edward R. Murrow. She is an avid history buff and enjoys NPR and
reading books in her spare time. Brooke is a correspondent for the Oakland
Press, Huron Daily Tribune and Royal Oak Tribune.

Clay Taylor is a fourth-year journalism major specializing in film study at
Michigan State University. In addition to Capital News Service, Clay works
in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as a writer. Over the
summer he completed an internship at the Lansing City Pulse. He hopes for a
career in feature writing.

Melanie Trusty is a journalism senior with a specialization in health and family relationships. She is from Wyandotte. After graduation she plans on writing for a major newspaper in Michigan. Melanie would love to move to Colorado and continue writing for a newspaper. She hopes to publish her own magazine, write children’s books and a novel, and develop a news program for teenagers. She is the correspondent for the Grand Rapids Business Journal, Michigan Citizen and Macomb Daily.

Tim Wardle is a journalism senior at Michigan State, contemplating staying for another year to pursue a second degree in either communications or political science. Tim recently switched to journalism and Capital News Service has provided him with his first exposure to a newsroom setting. Tim has long been interested in politics and media though, and hopes to one day have a job that intertwines those interests. He writes for the Grand Rapids Business Journal, the Greenville Daily News, and the Leelanau Enterprise.
